MITCHEL TROY is a thriving village at the eastern edge of Monmouthshire. This website has been created to serve the village as an information source, discussion forum, noticeboard, pages for classified advertisements and the latest news from the History, Reading and Walking Groups. There will plenty of space for all to enjoy.

Come on Mitchel Troy! - submit items and articles of interest and to make this a vibrant and well informed source of interest for the whole village. We would particularly like to have photograhs to form a gallery. Send items to e-mail address

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT SECURITY
from Val Long of Mitchel Troy Community Council

“Today (1 Feb) the neighbourhood police called in to warn us about recent rural burglaries - a 'professional' gang are working all over the county - mainly stealing land rovers, but they will take anything that can be sold on. They suggest that owners should immobilize all land rovers to prevent them being driven away.
There have been 3 burglaries on the Common in the last 2 weeks, sometime during the middle of the night. We all need to be vigilant about security and letting police know of any suspicious vehicles/people.
Don't forget you can report a non-emergency incident or suspicion on 101.”
Since this warning another burglary took place on Monday 1st February in Parc Pentre, they did not have a Land Rover so we all need to be very vigilant. Also a suspicious red IZUSU 4x4 with an empty car trailer was spotted coming up from Raglan way late evening, this has now been reported to the police.
Please pass this message on to anyone who may be interested. If you want to join our email network send an email to gill.pollock@talktalk.net.
We do communicate about a range of matters, such as the snow and flooding issues as well as social events. Keep informed and stay safe.

Walkable Paths in Mitchel Troy
Do you have visitors and would like to go for a gentle stroll without using the car?
Do you know about the Mitchel Troy Circular walk but not certain where the usable short cuts are if necessary?
Perhaps you want to walk that path up the road but fear you might need the secateurs?
If you would like to know more about where you can walk in Mitchel Troy or have some local path experience that you are willing to share, then come and join the Mitchel Troy Paths Group.  It is having the first get together around a map of the area, to share local knowledge and experience, in September (on a date to be arranged).  If you are interested, please telephone Elaine Savage on 01600 715618 for more information.
